DJ Home Movies The madness continues! Another four tracking EP from Locust, now in a more club-friendly format (read: concealed weapon). If you need to disarm the crowd (in a good way), any one of these bad boys will do, though I'm partial to "Spirit". Bell arp and sinking synth stabs really does make it sound like an NES breathing its last as a console before becoming possessed by our friend here. Definitely a fun tune, especially for electro-thrashers looking to branch out. Favorite track: Spirit.

The second in a series of EPs by Mark Van Hoen’s Locust project. Continuing in the vein of Mark’s signature interpretation of techno, GREEN also has a few other surprises in store for us including an only slightly glossier vibe this time around without compromising the heavy-hitting dance floor anthems. Special mention of the final track “Arch Enemy” which immediately reminds us of why we are enamored with the work of Locust in the first place. Ongoing stunning artwork by Paul Nicholson as well (designer of the new Locust logo as well as a history of other groundbreaking artwork in his repertoire).

The album Weathered Well is a classic 90s electronica album. I go back to it time and time again. These 5 tracks from around that time are an essential companion. This is primal ambient, experimental techno and deserves admiration. Check Autocreation Mettle, too, been remastered. Dominic Saraceno
